MY focus will be the July 1st Canada Day celebrations on George Street specifically and in the St. John’s area generally.
Optional side trips can include seeing whales, puffins, glaciers, and world-famous historical places.
We can even visit the famous breweries at Quidi Vidi and Dildo (featured on Jimmy Kimmel) and enjoy the live music on George Street, one of the happiest places on earth!
I will be flying up early Monday morning, June 29, 8:00 AM EDT, Air Canada 674 from Orlando MCO to Montreal YUL (2-hour layover there.) Then proceeding on to St. John’s YYT (Air Canada 1992) arriving in time for fish & chips dinner at the famous Duke of Duckworth after picking up my rental car at Alamo at the airport.
I currently have lodging reservations at the Marriott St. John's Newfoundland, 131 Duckworth St, St. John's, NL A1C 1E9, Canada, (709) 722-6636, though that may change.
I will be available Tuesday, June 30 through Friday morning, July 3 to meet up for side trips. I am familiar with the area and its history.
I will check out of my hotel by 11:00 am Friday, July 3, but can remain in the area for a few more hours of shenanigans.
My flight home via Air Canada 697 leaves at 5:35 PM Friday, July 3. After an hour layover in Toronto YYZ, my flight back to Orlando MCO (Air Canada 1676) leaves at 8:55 PM.
Some interesting links to more about St. John’s in particular, and Newfoundland in general:
